Synopsis

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Morgue is an experimental short film about what in Mexico is called “videohomes”, b-movies that go directly to video and exploit commercially successful formulas, usually about violence, drug trafficking, or sex. Crossing the boundaries between fiction and documentary, the film appropiates the styles, codes, and archetypes of this medium, giving an uncanny homage to a film industry that keeps alive the social imaginary
