Pepe Gutiérrez was born in Mexico City in 1989, currently he is in a film montage of his academic thesis at CUEC – UNAM (Film School of the Mexican National University). He participated in The Guadalajara Talent Campus and the workshop “The persona vision in cinema” imparted by the filmmaker Amat Escalante. He has been supported by the FONCA (National Fund for Culture and Arts). His Short films The Birds Look To The North (2014) and The Bright of Your Eyes Will Extinguish With The Darkness of The World (2016) were screened at film festivals around the world, such as San Sebastian International Film Festival, Festival of New Latin-American Cinema of Havana, Cameflex-AFC, Huesca International Film Festival, Morelia International Film Festival, among others. His debut documentary film I Promise You Never Come Back participated in the Doculab Guadalajara in The Guadalajara International Film Festival and the laboratory for a possible cinema with the cinema directors Matas Piñeiro and Nico Pereda. It also won with the Best Debut Film in The International Documentary Film Festival – DocsMx.
Also it will have his international premiere in the official competition NEXT: WAVE of the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival CPH: DOX 2017.

I try to remember, there’s no one, a trip, empty spaces, my balcony, the abandonment of my girl, the relation with my father, I write a diary, I look back, I try to make a film.
