Gabriel Herrera is a Mexican filmmaker, occasional animator and video artist living between Poland and Mexico. He made first film studies in the Center of Cinematographic Studies (CUEC) in Mexico, and a Master’s degree in Directing in the Polish National Film School (PWSFTviT), in Poland.
He is an active member of Black Maria productions with Santiago Torres and Susana Bernal. Besides his personal work as film director, he has directed and co-directed several social-ecological documentaries, including a short movie for FAO in the International Seed Vault in Svalbard, and has edited, among other things, the internationally acclaimed documentary feature “Kings of Nowhere”, directed by Betzabé García.
